Fifteen years of civil war have been followed by 10 years of peace, but tensions are high again over the question of Syrian involvement in Lebanon. One faction says the 35,000 Syrian troops in Lebanon should be withdrawn while another wants the troops to stay. Demonstrations have been banned for fear they will provoke clashes between the two groups. Follow local reports for current updates.
