It is hard to know what lies ahead for this Himalayan kingdom after the killing of its king, queen and most of the royal family June 1. A temporary curfew was imposed, demonstrations occurred outside the palace and at other places in Kathmandu, and the streets were full of sadness and anger. With Maoists wielding wider influence in the countryside and the current uncertainties of governance, now is a good time to defer travel here.
