The killing of an American citizen in Port-au-Prince recently should serve as a reminder to hand over valuables when confronted by armed robbers. The man apparently refused to surrender his cash when armed men at a roadblock demanded it, and they shot and killed him. Only you can be the judge in such a confrontation, but the surest way to escape uninjured is to cooperate.
