Banditry has increased dramatically in recent weeks on the roads between Dhaka and Aricha, Dhaka and Barisal, and Barisal and Banaripari. Several overnight buses have been held up either by bandits posing as passengers or gangs blocking roads. Avoid overnight bus travel.
