By Larry Habegger | Permalink |A mob that thought tourists photographing local children were planning to abduct them stoned to death a Japanese visitor and his tour bus driver in the village of Todos Santos near the Mexican border Apr. 30. Rumors of kidnapping by foreigners occasionally spread through the highland areas; in a 1994 incident an American woman was beaten into a coma by a similar mob. Be very careful when photographing children. Inquire with locals before doing so.
