Colombia is one of the world’s most dangerous countries with a high rate of kidnapping. As if to underscore the point, a car bomb exploded in the Medellin office of the military’s anti-kidnapping squad July 30, killing nine and injuring 30 more. Meanwhile, rebel offensives go on while peace talks continue. Travel here with extreme caution.
