Travelers over the age of 65 should consult physicians before embarking on cruises to Alaska that involve inland tours to or near Canada’s Yukon Territory. A flu epidemic there has affected some 1600 people and one elderly woman has died from flu complications. The disease has spread through large tour groups that have gone inland by bus and then returned to their cruise ships, where others have been infected.
