March 19 is Jerusalem Day, an annual date originally proclaimed by Iran’s Ayatollah Khomeini to demand the “liberation” of the city. This occasion may be marked with commemoration ceremonies or demonstrations in Islamic countries, and given the heated conflict in Israel and the Palestinian territories, and the ongoing “war on terrorism” in Afghanistan, such demonstrations could be passionate. Keep a low profile and consider avoiding any large gatherings.
