Solomon Islands

Conflict between islanders has occurred on Guadalcanal and is beginning to threaten travelers. The unrest has largely occurred in rural areas between ethnic groups, and expatriates and visitors have not been targets, but in March an armed group attacked a resort on the southeastern coast. No one was hurt, but expatriates were threatened. There is no evidence that these tensions will spill over to other islands in the group.
