Argentina
By Larry Habegger | Permalink |Argentina’s economic woes continue, and demonstrations against the government, which are usually peaceful, can turn violent. Two people were killed and many injured in a protest June 26 that became a riot. Police have been accused of murder in the incident and the Buenos Aires police chief resigned as a result. The violence was the worst since December when 29 people were killed in protests that ultimately brought on the president’s resignation. The situation remains volatile. Avoid large gatherings.
