The State Department revised its worldwide caution announcement to say that it continues to receive credible indications that extremist individuals are planning additional terrorist actions against U.S. interests. The announcement states, “Such actions may be imminent and include suicide operations. We have no further information on specific targets, timing or method of attack.” Security has been tightened at official U.S. facilities, which may drive terrorists to seek softer targets such as churches or synagogues, or places where Americans are known to congregate.
