Tensions remain high between supporters and opponents of President Hugo Chavez, with frequent demonstrations in Caracas posing the threat of violence. A final Supreme Court decision on whether to try four high-ranking military officials for their April coup plot against the president, whichever way it goes, could provoke unrest.
