Cambodia will hold parliamentary elections July 27 and in recent days two violent incidents have occurred. In one, a political party member was killed in his sleep; in another, three children were wounded when a grenade was thrown into their house. Three parties will compete for seats in the National Assembly, and elections here have a history of violence. Election monitors estimate that as many as 18 political activists have been killed since January. Further violence is possible in the weeks before the election.
