By Larry Habegger | Permalink |Protests have occurred almost daily the past two weeks and are likely to continue as Bahrainis get used to the right of free expression granted through reforms started three years ago. The demonstrations have been largely peaceful and range from taxi drivers angry over the licensing of a new radio-dispatched car company to youths demanding jobs in a time of 15 percent unemployment. The latter protests produced clashes between demonstrators and police but did not escalate to serious violence.
