The U.S. State Department has reissued its worldwide caution alerting Americans to the continued risk of terrorist attacks around the world. The broad warning includes terrorist attacks of all types with both conventional and unconventional weapons, and is meant to remind travelers to remain alert at all times, especially at official institutions or in venues where Americans or other foreigners congregate. The context for this caution is “tensions remaining from the recent events in Iraq.”
