Hurricane Fabian, the most powerful storm to hit the island since 1953, knocked out power to three-quarters of BermudaÂ’s homes and businesses, ripped the roofs off many houses and left lots of debris on roads, but the situation on the island is returning to normal. The airport reopened Sept. 6, the day after the hurricane blew through.
