Citing sources in the special services, the Turkish press has reported that Sofia and Bucharest, Romania may be the next target of al-Qaeda attacks similar to those launched in Istanbul in the past two weeks. Security has reportedly been increased at the synagogue in Sofia and the surrounding area, although the Bulgarian Interior Ministry says that there is no new threat of terrorism in the country and no evidence that al-Qaeda is planning attacks there.
