Two British tourists were held at gunpoint in the middle of Dar es Salaam June 17 by a man who demanded to know if they were Americans. When they proved they were British he let them go. This may have been an isolated incident, but it serves as a reminder to blend in whenever possible and to avoid wearing clothing that identifies you as American, especially in regions where anti-American sentiment is increasing.
