Grenada

Hurricane Ivan left some 60 percent of Grenada’s population homeless and damaged 90 percent of the island’s buildings. There were widespread power shortages and telephone landlines were inoperable. Shortages of food, water and sanitation exist, raising the concern of health problems. Weeks will pass before the island returns to a semblance of normalcy.
