Worldwide Security

By Larry Habegger | Permalink | No Comments | September 14th, 2004 | Trackback

The U.S. State Department has reissued its “Worldwide Caution” announcement warning Americans of a continued threat of terrorist attacks against U.S. citizens or interests throughout the world, and noting that violent demonstrations have occurred in countries whose nationals have been executed in Iraq by terrorists. This rioting can occur at any time, and although Americans usually are not targeted in such demonstrations, they can be caught up in the violence if not careful. The State Department remains concerned that al-Qaeda and affiliated groups may be planning attacks against U.S. and other Western interests. In view of the recent suicide bombing at the Australian Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia, these concerns are clearly valid.
