A purse-snatching spree occurred in downtown Amman and the affluent neighborhood of West Amman in August and early September, with more than 60 incidents. In many cases bags were snatched from vehicles as they passed pedestrian victims, and in some cases victims were injured in the attack. Try to walk toward oncoming traffic or at least keep shoulder bags on your shoulder farthest from the street.
