The U.S. Embassy in Amman reported that several terrorist plots against American facilities in Jordan had been thwarted in the past six months, but the threat remains, with regional groups affiliated with al-Qaeda continuing to “call for violence against Americans.” U.S. citizens are advised that targets might include places where foreigners congregate, “including residential areas, clubs, restaurants, places of worship, schools, hotels and public areas.”
