Indonesia
By Larry Habegger | Permalink |The governments of Australia, Japan, New Zealand, the U.K. and the U.S. issued travel warnings for Indonesia, with Australia citing a specific threat to Hilton hotels. The threats prompted the national police chief to order the annual deployment of tens of thousands of extra police to patrol public places including shopping malls, churches and hotels during the Christmas and New Year’s holiday period. The U.S. State Department warned that terrorists may be planning attacks on a wide range of targets and the threat may increase during the holidays.
