Mauritania

The Plymouth-Banjul and Paris-Dakar road rallies are scheduled for late December 2004 through mid-January 2005. Americans are generally welcomed in Mauritania, but in the past there have been anti-American incidents including stoning of vehicles during these rallies. If participating in or observing these events, be alert for hostility or threats.
