East Africa

The U.S. State Department reissued its public announcement reminding Americans of the ongoing potential for terrorist attacks against U.S. interests in East Africa. The State Department believes terrorist threats continue against civil aviation and seaports and encourage Americans to be vigilant about their personal security, especially in areas where Westerners congregate, at hotels, restaurants, places of worship and resorts. In remote areas or border regions where police or military authority is limited, Americans may be targeted for kidnapping.
