Indonesia
By Larry Habegger | Permalink |An outbreak of dengue fever has killed 120 people and stricken another 5,500 across twelve provinces since January, causing the government to issue an emergency alert in Jakarta, West Java, East Kalimantan, South Sulawesi, West Nusa Tenggara and East Nusa Tenggara. These provinces were among the hardest hit last year in a similar outbreak. So far last year’s outbreak caused more deaths, but this year’s is expected to run for another three months. To prevent the disease, protect yourself against mosquito bites.
