A series of strikes that could affect transportation are planned for early March. Airports in many cities will be affected on different dates with flight or baggage service disruptions likely. These include Bari Palese on March 1; Florence and Naples on March 3; Malpensa, Milan and Rome on March 4; Venice on March 5; and Verona on March 7. A 24-hour nationwide strike by public transportation workers March 9 will affect buses, trams, subways and trains. Strikes are often called off before they begin, so follow local media reports for current information.
