Strikes planned for April 8 could affect transportation throughout the country. Local transportation employees intend to strike for four hours in many cities, disrupting bus, subway and train service. On the same day state railway workers have called for an eight-hour strike in Umbria that could affect regional service. On April 23 workers with several airlines plan to strike for four hours and could cause significant flight delays.
