Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia

Thailand and Vietnam have agreed to permit cars from each country to drive freely within their borders in a move both hope will increase tourism. Driving is done on the left side of the road in Thailand, and the right side in Vietnam. Cambodia closed its northern border with Thailand near the ancient temple site of Preah Vihear because of a Thai troop buildup, which the Thais say was prompted by Cambodian encroachment. The temple site was held by Thailand until 1962, when the International Court of Justice ruled that the disputed site belonged to Cambodia. Thailand is experiencing an outbreak of dengue fever, with 7,200 cases reported and 12 deaths this year. The surest way to avoid the disease is to prevent mosquito bites.
