Hoping to duplicate the success of the Paris Plage, a temporary artificial beach on the Seine in Paris, officials in Rome have installed “Tiber Village,” an artificial beach on the banks of the Tiber River in the heart of Rome. The nearly-600-foot-long stretch of sand will be open June 18 to September 17 and will offer city dwellers a “seaside” experience with showers, swimming pools, bars and restaurants.
