Sweden and Denmark

Gangs of highway robbers have been preying on tourists sleeping in campers and RVs. They strike at night and in many cases have sprayed an anesthetic gas into the vehicles to ensure the inhabitants remain asleep while they steal the valuables. Some thirty such robberies have been reported this summer in Sweden, mostly in the southern and western parts of the country, and one incident occurred in Denmark, when a German tourist was parked near the Faro bridge. Swedish police suspect the criminals are from the former Yugoslavia.
