Central Asia: Terrorist Threats
By Larry Habegger | Permalink |Citing increased threat reporting for the Central Asia region, the U.S. Embassy in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, reduced its operations July 18, and the Embassy in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan has moved to a heightened security posture. The Embassies report that extremist groups with links to al Qaeda may be planning attacks against U.S. facilities, citizens, or interests in the region.
