United Kingdom: Another London Attack
By Larry Habegger | Permalink |London remains on edge following a second attempt of coordinated attacks on the city’s transit system July 21 and the dramatic shooting death by police of a bombing suspect on a subway car. The shooting incident occurred July 22 after undercover police chased down the suspect who left a house under surveillance and refused orders to stop. In the attack on the London Underground and a city bus, all four bombs failed to detonate, and police believe the attack is linked to the July 7 bombings that killed 52. Most of the Underground is operating without restriction, but several lines affected by the incidents have interrupted service.
