Malaysia: Polluted Air
By Larry Habegger | Permalink |Some 600 fires on the Indonesian island of Sumatra and both the Indonesian and Malaysian portions of Borneo created a smoky haze over Kuala Lumpur and surrounding areas, prompting health officials to warn against strenuous outdoor activities. The haze comes and goes as the weather changes. These conditions are not new; they occur almost annually during the hot, dry season.
