United Kingdom: 2 Underground Lines Reopened
By Larry Habegger | Permalink |Two sections of the London Underground that had been partially shut down since the July 7 bombings have reopened. The Hammersmith and City line and the District line were reopened Aug. 2. The Circle line and Piccadilly line remain restricted. The Circle Line has no service in either direction and the Piccadilly Line has no service between Hyde Park Corner station and Arnos Grove station. Meanwhile, amid rumors of a third terror cell intent on attacking London’s transit system, British police have been out in force to prevent such an attack and working tirelessly to solve the previous crimes. Suspects have been arrested in the U.K. and in Italy, and investigators are piecing together their networks.
