Indonesia: Security Found Lacking at Bali’s Main Airport
By Larry Habegger | Permalink |The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced that Bali’s main airport in Denpasar does not meet international security standards. Investigators from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) evaluated the Bandara Ngurah Rai International Airport and notified Indonesian officials of the deficiencies, then allowed 90 days to correct them. Not all problems were solved and the announcement was made, requiring all U.S. airlines that fly to Bali to notify ticket buyers of the security problems. Meanwhile, these airlines have implemented temporary measures that counter the security deficiencies, and DHS believes air service to Bali is safe.
