Iran: 15-Day Visas Now Issued on Arrival

By Larry Habegger | Permalink | 1 comment | January 17th, 2006 | Trackback

In an attempt to increase tourism and perhaps mitigate its increasing pariah status in the international community, Iran will begin issuing 15-day tourist visas to all foreign nationals upon arrival, except Israelis, who are not welcome. The visas can be extended for another 15 days but visits of longer than a month require interior ministry approval. The new policy applies to U.S. citizens, but Americans will continue to be fingerprinted upon arrival because of U.S. immigration procedures that require the same of visiting Iranians.

I’ve heard this will not apply to citizens of the US. You might want to update and amend this.
