Italy: Strikes in January

Several strikes are planned in January. Alitalia flight attendants will stage a 24-hour walkout Jan. 19. Public transport workers in Turin will strike for eight hours Jan. 20. Air traffic controllers in Milan will walk out for four hours Jan. 21. State railway and maritime workers will strike for 24 hours Jan. 26-27. All strikes hold the possibility of significant disruption, and any could be canceled at the last minute, as often happens here.
