Algeria: U.S. State Department Warns Against Remote Travel

The U.S. State Department warned that travel in rural and remote areas of Algeria is risky because of inadequate security. Algiers and most urban centers have not had a terrorist incident in more than a year, but incidents such as bombings, criminal roadblocks and kidnappings continue to occur in remote areas. Overland night travel between major cities should be avoided.
