Algeria: U.S. State Department Warns Against Remote Travel
By Larry Habegger | Permalink |The U.S. State Department warned that travel in rural and remote areas of Algeria is risky because of inadequate security. Algiers and most urban centers have not had a terrorist incident in more than a year, but incidents such as bombings, criminal roadblocks and kidnappings continue to occur in remote areas. Overland night travel between major cities should be avoided.
