Bali: Police Say They’re Poised to Protect Tourists

The chief of Balinese police told visiting journalists that police are ready 24 hours a day to help tourists, and that phoning 036-122-4111 would get an officer dispatched immediately to offer assistance. Patrols have been increased in high-crime areas and intelligence agents are working in greater numbers to detect possible terror plots. The anti-crime effort is no doubt part of a campaign to assure tourists that Bali is safe.
