Trinidad and Tobago: Lax Law Enforcement

By Larry Habegger | Permalink | No Comments | February 21st, 2006 | Trackback

The British Foreign and Commonwealth Office warned that law enforcement on the islands was weak after police failed to hold suspects in an assault on three British tourists lounging by the pool of their rented villa in Mt. Irvine on Tobago. The visitors were participants in an international pro-am golf tournament and the villa was near the golf course. Similar attacks have occurred at villas in the area and visitors renting villas anywhere on the island should be sure that they have adequate security measures in place, including 24-hour security officers.
