India: Rajasthan Crime Patrols Help Tourists

Three out of four foreign tourists entering India go to Rajasthan, and the home ministry is hoping to keep it that way, responding to recent rapes of a German and a Japanese tourist with increased crime patrols. Rajasthan also has a Tourist Assistance Force dedicated to helping tourists enjoy their visits. These officers are stationed in booths at tourist spots throughout the state, and they also patrol these areas to help ensure visitors’ safety.
