Central Asia: Ongoing Terrorist Threat

The U.S. State Department reissued its public announcement that it continues to receive information of possible terrorist attacks against U.S. interests in Central Asia. Several extremist groups are present in the region, have expressed anti-American sentiments and are capable of carrying out such operations. Attacks could occur on both official and civilian targets, including places where foreigners congregate.
