Egypt: Robbery Scam in Cairo
By Larry Habegger | Permalink |If traveling by car in Cairo, resist the urge to get out of your car if bumped from the rear by another vehicle. Criminals use this tactic to get people out of their cars so they can rob them. Trust your instincts and leave the area if you suspect foul play, or drive to the nearest police station or other public facility with security guards and report the incident.

COMMON SENSE: DO NOT DRIVE IN CAIRO! Always take taxis. They are fearless and competent and will get you there safe and fast. A couple in my hostel took a rental to the pyramids and it took 10 hours. My taxi took 30 minutes.
