Germany: Security Increased at U.S. Installations

By Larry Habegger | Permalink | No Comments | April 25th, 2007 | Trackback

An unspecified threat perceived to be credible and serious by U.S. intelligence officials prompted the U.S. Embassy in Berlin to increase its security arrangements and to encourage Americans in Germany to do the same. Germany has increased security outside U.S. military bases and warned that U.S. buildings could be targets. Diplomats reviewed security at U.S. missions in Bonn, Bremen, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Leipzig and Munich. Concerns have increased in Germany since July when two suitcase bombs that malfunctioned were discovered on passenger trains.
