Morocco: High Alert for Terrorist Attacks

Morocco is on extreme alert for terrorist attacks in Casablanca and other cities following suicide bombings April 14 near the U.S. Consulate and an American language school in Casablanca. On April 10 three bombers blew themselves up while police pursued them and a fourth was shot by police. Authorities have arrested 20 people in connection with the bombings and believe they have dismantled the group responsible for these incidents and a March 11 explosion at an internet café. The threat persists, however, with similar incidents having occurred in neighboring Algeria on April 11.
