African Air Travel: New Aviation Organization To Be Formed
By Larry Habegger | Permalink |The crash of a Kenya Airways plane after takeoff from Douala, Cameroon May 5 underscored the need for an African air safety agency comparable to the U.S.’s FAA and the E.U.’s Aviation Safety Agency to monitor the aviation industry. On June 28 African governments will inaugurate such an organization, and if the agency does its job and member countries cooperate, aviation safety across the continent should improve.
