Yemen: Attack on Tourist Site

Authorities have tightened security around government buildings and foreign facilities in response to the suicide car bombing of a group of Spanish tourists at an archaeological site in the troubled eastern province of Marib. Seven Spanish citizens and two Yemenis were killed in the bombing, which was blamed on al-Qaeda. The U.S. Embassy in Sana’a advises against all travel to Marib province at this time.
