U.S. Virgin Islands: Assaults in Havensight, St. Thomas

By Larry Habegger | Permalink | No Comments | April 23rd, 2008 | Trackback

Tourists in almost any cruise ship port stand out like sore thumbs, so prudence suggests that to avoid trouble they should know where they are going. A U.S. citizen was pistol whipped and robbed by four assailants when he wandered into the Oswald Harris Court housing community near the Havensight cruise ship dock area on St. Thomas. He told police he went there “to look around,” which would be a reasonable thing to do if he knew the area was safe. In late February another tourist was shot during a robbery in the same area.
