South Africa: Violence against Immigrants Shocks South Africans

The attacks occurred mostly in the townships and usually at night, but some were within view of the affluent suburbs and in Johannesburg’s central business district. The U.S. State Department recommended following local press reports for information about where incidents might occur and to avoid those areas.
